Caring for your cover - summer or winter
Convertible covers are sensitive parts of the car. Here are a few useful tips and tricks to allow you to enjoy an attractive, intact cover for a long time:
The professional tip: Washing solution
The following makes an effective washing solution:
- 2l water
- 1l vinegar
- 0.2l multipurpose cleaner
- approx. 1 capful of disinfectant
The professional tip: Washing
- Rub down the cover firmly with a sponge soaked in the solution and leave to soak for about 30 minutes.
- Vacuum off with a vacuum cleaner.
- Repeat the cleaning process and leave to soak for 2 hours this time.
- Brush off thoroughly with a scrubbing brush, vacuum and finish with a dry cloth.
- Blow out the seams with a compressed air gun until there are no more traces of moisture.
For serious problems
Treat mould or similar dirt with Schimmel-Ex.
Attention
- The cleaning solution should not be allowed to run onto the surrounding paintwork.
- This could cause marking.
- In addition, remember to wear a protective mask and gloves during cleaning, for health reasons!
